About the Programme
Course Overview
The objective of the program is to build knowledge and skills to perform as effective professionals in health care sector. The syllabus and course contents are designed to meet the needs of fresh graduates and mid-career professionals. The major objectives of the program are to understand the concepts and techniques of modern management and their application in making the managerial roles of the students efficient and effective, to develop skills of analyzing, diagnosing and solving operational problems in the delivery of health care services, to learn the application of qualitative and quantitative analytical tools as applicable to hospital industry, to understand and appreciate methodologies of health care management training and develop skills with focus on strategic responsibility for training and human resources development for health care industry, to enlarge the outlook and vision of students about the larger background and context of health care management.Salient features of the programme
- Practice based course: Strong emphasis on practical examples from real-life, relatable scenarios rather than explorations of theory-based discourses to make them appreciate execution and not just planning
- General applications and specialization: Geared towards a broad range of skills and capacity building in the first two years, while specialization in the last
- Indian Case Studies: Exposure to wide diversity of global worldview and narratives and contrasting them with local/Indian ways of thinking and doing.
- Interdisciplinary Learning: Going beyond the business-related subjects to secure a larger worldview and appreciate the myths surrounding everyday experience
- Experiential Learning: In addition to internships, emphasis on community exposure, where students are encouraged to engage in exercises within their community and develop mature attitudes and behaviour.
- Working collaboratively: Thinking and acting is encouraged in groups and teams to allow for learning amongst peers.
