Background of the visit
The University has organised a mega seminar on 28th of April, 2022, where they have invited all the Ambassadors and High commissioner from Africa division. The Chief Guest of the seminar was Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, The Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The Guest of Honour were all the four Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
The agenda of this proposed deliberation shall be, to brief and walk you through the presentation on UGC affiliated full time degree programs in bachelors, masters and doctorates courses. Along with 6 months and 1 year certification/ grad cert/ advance certification courses in Manufacturing/ Paramedics & Allied Health / Fashion Technology and Textile/ Hospitality/ Automotive and Automobile/ Agriculture/ 3D+AR+VR + Design. In the seminar they discussed about the different offering of alternative appropriate courses and career guidance for the students of the African Nations.
After the seminar The High Commissioner of Gambia, Morocco, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, had visited the campus to gain first-hand experience of our skill integrated higher education model which is inclusive, aspirational and inspirational.
After the visit His Excellency, Morocco was impressed with the model of CUTM where he explored various courses and trades. His Excellency was very happy to see how the integration of Skill has been done into Higher Education. After that a discussion, The University submitted a proposal with the perspective of cooperation with Morocco through the possibility of collaboration in the various sector of Skill Development and Higher Education. After the return of His Excellency back to Delhi, the Embassy send the University a proposal to receive a delegation from the University, on 6th September 2022, in Morocco. One of the other purpose of this visit was also, be a good occasion to explore the opportunities of collaboration with Morocco in Higher Studies, specifically in the fields of Skills and Maritime Studies & Engineering.
Details of the delegation
The University delegation was led by Hon’ble VC, CUTM. With the help and support of the Embassy few very important meeting were fixed for the delegation to attend, which included meeting Shri Rajesh Vaishnaw, Indian Ambassador to Morocco over a High Tea at his residence. The outcomes of the visit
The only way of measuring success of any delegation depends on formalization of the association by signing off MoUs. To conclude the CUTM’s delegation on of the success journey we can say that it was quite a celebrating moment for everyone involved to streamline this. As they have successfully signed three MoU with ISEM, UIR and Université Ibn Tofail. Apart from this the University has already started the follow up actions. Like they are in talking terms with UCA for Ph.D student exchange programs. They are now working on finalising the proposals to be submitted to-: 1. Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research- with the scope of work in short term courses in the sector of Engineering, Agriculture, Paramedics, Entrepreneurship and Media and communications. 2. Ministry of Skill Development & Vocational Training, and Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion- with the below scope of work in short term courses in the sector of Engineering, Agriculture, Paramedics, Entrepreneurship and Media and communications. 3. Ministry of Investment and Export Promotion- with the below scope of work to set up a Smart Agricultural Unit of Research and Academic uses and to set up Skill Development Units.
