About Community Engagement in CARES
Centurion University endeavours to promote sustainable development. It is making significant contributions to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 (No Poverty), 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through community engagement:
- SDG 1: No Poverty: Centurion University facilitates access to education by offering scholarships, mentorship programs, and workshops for underprivileged individuals. Collaborating with local organizations, national government, and state government it empowers communities with the skills and knowledge to break the cycle of poverty.
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being: Centurion University engages in health education initiatives by organizing awareness campaigns and providing training for healthcare professionals. In partnership with Essilor, it conducts sight-saver health camps and distributes visual aids to underprivileged sections free of cost.
- SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: Centurion University plays a critical role in workforce development by collaborating with local industries to offer training programs and skill-building courses, enhancing employability.
