The School of Applied Sciences offer Bachelor’s Programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Information Technology, and Computer Science; and Master’s Programmes in Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Botany, and Zoology. The school has been in the forefront in implementing CBCS as well as preparing itself to provide integrated 5 years Bachelors-Master’s program as per the New Education Policy 2020. Apart from preparing students for a career in teaching and research, which are traditional aspirations of students, the school has mapped out many industrial domains and new emerging areas like Phyto Pharma, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Renewable Energy, Intensive Aquaculture, Fish Processing Technology, Genetics and Genomics, Smart Agriculture, Animal Cell Culture, Seed Technology, Tissue Culture, Food Processing, Organic Farming, Horticulture, Dairy Processing, Composite Design and Manufacturing, Waste to Wealth, Medical Diagnostics, Radio Imaging Technology, Good Health and Wellness, and Nutraceuticals. Apart from these domains, students aspiring for industrial R&D and production jobs are also encouraged to take engineering domains like Data Science and Machine Learning, Gaming and Immersive Learning, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Business Analytics, Cloud Technology, Cyber Security, Software Technology, Chip Design and Fabrication, Aerial Survey and Remote Sensing Applications, Space Science, and Smart Farm Machinery. The school has a multi-disciplinary team of faculty and collaborates with other Schools to offer these cutting-edge domains. R&D careers, production jobs and teaching jobs are equally preferred by students. To further these aspirations, both Bachelor’s and Master’s students are mandated to publish in international journals. The school’s faculty members, aided by the labs and full-time research scholars, focus on product research as well as publishing quality international papers.

School of Applied Sciences is committed to Sustainable Development Goals focusing on Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Climate Action, Life on Land, Life Under water, and Partnership for Goals. The School tries to ensure that the biodiversity of the campuses and surrounding communities through regular surveys of flora and fauna. Further, the establishment and nurturing of a ‘Bee, Butterfly and Cactus’ garden enhances the biodiversity and natural pollination. The School supports the production of food by ensuring arable soil (using organic and biofertilizers produced in-house), disease-free plants and introduction of more recent technologies such as smart and precision agriculture, hydroponics and aeroponics; but also allows for the minimal use of insecticides and pesticides. Tissue Culture is another area of research and production. SoAS is exhaustively working on plant gene editing, producing dwarf varieties, speed breeding and disease resistant plants. In partnership with other academia and industries the University also works with latest genomics (bio)technologies. The School also focuses on monitoring water quality, treating and recycling waste water and transforming other waste to wealth. In this endeavour, the University converts all its food waste to manure, all waste paper to hand made paper (and various products), and plastic waste to manufacture of paver blocks. The SoAS is also researching on new materials. These efforts are recognized by Government of India and substantiated by research grants from different agencies. Besides this the school prepares students for careers in Banking, Civil Services and other competitive exams like Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), National Eligibility Test (NET), Common Admission Test (CAT) and Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST).
