Message from Director sports :
Welcome to our university,
Contemporary period is witnessing lifestyle changes which results in obesity and its wellknown adverse effects. The pandemic has further accelerated it. Owing to the prolonged
sitting hours and mostly in improper posture students are susceptible to various problems.
This will affect the socio-economic progress of the country. Taking cognisance of the
grievous situation and understanding the necessity of physical fitness the university has
invested in different facilities for indoor and outdoor sports. The University therefore
provides several sports facilities including cricket, football, tennis, badminton, basketball,
kabaddi, kho-kho, table tennis, volley ball and others to its students and employees. The
university`s swimming pool while extending its services to the employees and students also is
a training ground for school students from the neighbouring vicinity. Its high end gymnasium
is equipped with state of art infrastructure. An open gym caters to the need of children and
elderly with basic facilities. The university believes in equal opportunity and is spreading the
message of physical fitness by practise to the community by enabling accessibility of its
facilities to them. In this regard the University also conducts inter-panchayat cricket and
volley-ball matches. It is an earnest endeavour from the University towards social-inclusion
of different communities and substantiating its vision of “Shaping lives and empowering
communities”.
