About Department
The Department of Zoology, established in 2016 under the School of Applied Sciences, Centurion University of Technology and Management, Odisha, India in the field of imparting zoological knowledge and skills in the form of teaching and research. PG, M. Phil and Ph.D programmes started in the year 2017.
The Department aim is to guide and prepare the youth of the region and outside the region and they can able to get ample scopes after the completion of their degrees and achieve excellence in research and innovation in the areas of zoology.
The Department vision is to prepare each and every student of the Department to compete national and international level as well as conserve faunal diversity through sustainable approach. So that, they fully organize themselves to serve to nation and society in future.
The Department is privileged and proud enough that students have participated in International and National Seminars and also published their research papers in various reputed journals.
Background
The above programs started in the years 2012 and 2015 respectively. These programs are offered from four campuses of the University, namely, Paralakhemundi, Bhubaneswar, Bolangir and Rayagada. In keeping with the skill orientation of the University, these programs are application oriented with strong skill integration.
The School of Applied Sciences (SoAS) offers Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) program for 3 years, Master of Science (M.Sc.) program for 2 years and M. Phil for 1 years.
Interdepartmental Collaborations:
Besides these programs, the University also offers courses in inter-disciplinary areas of JITM +2 Science(CHSE & CBSE), Bachelor and Masters programs in Management, Computer Applications and Vocational disciplines (ITI) of the (GTET & Skill Developments).
The syllabi of the programmes are duly approved by the Academic Councils of the University under guidance and participation of academic institutions of repute such as NISER, IIT, R&D and industry partners like Infosys, TCS and the like. As a matter of policy, The syllabi are periodically reviewed and updated every three years. The review of B.Sc. Honours programmes are being undertaken this year under this policy.
