About Me

Dr. Smita Mishra Panda is educated in Delhi University and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok. Prior to joining CUTM, she was Professor at the HDF School of Management, Bhubaneswar, Associate Professor at the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) and Researcher at the United Nations Centre for Regional Development, Japan, and AIT, Bangkok. Dr. Smita has been a visiting faculty to Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway, The Monash Asia Institute of Monash University, Melbourne (Australia) and The School of Built Environment and Planning, Curtin University, Perth (Australia). Her areas of research and consulting interests include gender issues in development, natural resource management, water, forests and livelihoods, marginalised communities, local governance, rural development and development management. She has done research projects with both national and international organisations such as UNIDO, UNICEF, UNDP, Norwegian Research Council, World Bank, European Commission, Care-India, DFID among others. Dr. Smita has travelled and published widely.
