Dr. Shantanu Bhattacharyya works as an Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, at the Centurion University of Technology and Management, Bolangir Campus, Odisha India. He has received his M.Sc. (Life Science- Botany) and M.Phil (Life Sciences) from Sambalpur University, Sambalpur, India and B.Ed. from Singhania University, Rajasthan India. After qualifying GATE-2007, CSIR-NET LS. He has joined as Junior Research Fellowship for two year and Senior research fellow for one year in a research Project entitled “Cyanobacteria in the Rice Field of Western Orissa: Diversity, Distribution and Their Response to Pesticides”, funded by Dept of Science and Technology. Govt of Orissa operated at School Of Life science Sambalpur University from 2008-2011. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Science, in 2016, from Sambalpur University, for his research on “Screening of pesticide Stress tolerant cyanobacterial strain from tropical rice field for their use as biofertilizer”. After completing PhD degree, he has worked as research Associate at National Facilities of Marine Cyanobacteria, under Department of Marine Biotechnology, Bharatidarsan University during 2017 in an INDO-UK project entitled “Bioenergy from Microalgae: A system Perspective”. He worked as a guest faculty at Gangadhar Meher College (presently Gangadhar Meher University) and fulltime Lecturer at Sukanti Degree College, Sonepur, Odisha, India. He has presented 15 Paper in many national and International conferences and has been award as best presenter on 6 different paper presentation. He has published 3 research papers in national journals, 10 international journals, 2 book chapter one of which is of InTech Publisher. He as attended workshop and training programme in his research area. He is reviewer of Journal Pesticide Biology and Biochemistry (Elsevier) and other reputed journals. He is associated with scientific communities like plant physiology of India, and Life member of Odisha Botanical society.
