About Me

I am Dr. Koustava Kumar Panda working presently as an Associate Professor in the department of Plant Biotechnology, M.S.Swaminathan School of Agriculture since July 2017.

I am presently  into teaching and research. I have worked on the nutritional profiling of widely cultivated rice landraces of Southern Odisha and have published my research findings in journals of repute.

I am interested in exploring the biodiversity of Southern Odisha in addition to working on the nutritional profiling of prominent rice cultivars to combat malnutrition. Further, I am interested in using the tools of molecular biology and bioinformatics to study the role of the genome and also to study the role of genes in nutritional enrichment, biotic & abiotic stress tolerance.

I would surely work hard to develop a consortium where people of my domain could work together to bridge the gap between thought and actions contributing towards scientific enrichment.

I have presented my research findings in various national and international conferences and had visited Hanoi, Vietnam during 2010 to present a paper in the International Rice Congress 2010 on "The Nutritional Profiling of Few Selected Rice Landraces of Southern Odisha wherein my work was thoroughly appreciated.

I have also presented my work in the National conference on "Neglected and Underutilized Crop Species for Food, Nutrition, Energy and Environment” held at National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi on 2nd August, 2019 where I had received the first travel award.
